A Florida man is facing multiple charges for shooting his roommate after he was found naked in his teenage daughter's bedroom.
Dayne home owner Victor Miller, 44, was arrested at his home early Wednesday morning after calling police and admitting to shooting two of his adult roommates through a closed bedroom door, police said. Cape Coral police said in a press release.
According to official reports, Miller told dispatchers he shot the couple after learning one of them was naked in his teenage daughter's bedroom.
The teenager was sleeping on the bed when she noticed the naked man beside her. Miller's daughter then went to tell her father what had happened. Authorities said Miller rented a room in a couple's home, and both Miller and the couple drank heavily that night.
NBC2 News reported that the naked man confessed to police that he had been drinking that night and woke up to go to the bathroom. He said that after leaving the bathroom, he accidentally entered the teen's bedroom.
The naked man's wife started waking him up and screaming that he was in the wrong room. After waking up, the couple returned to the bedroom. Then Miller approached their room and started knocking. According to NBC2 News, Miller shouted "I'll kill you" after the door was closed and locked onto him. "They're nice people so we never really had a problem. What happened to his daughter and everything... it's so disturbing," his neighbor Monica Taylor told publications. "I didn't even know they were renting a room in that house." Police said Miller fired his pistol three to four times into the floor just outside the door of the couple's bedroom. Miller was later charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of misdemeanor firearms. As of Friday morning, March 10, he is still being held at the Lee County Sheriff's Office. He will return to court on April 10.
