Two suspects arrested for raping 15-year-old deaf girl in Nasarawa


The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects for allegedly raping a 15-year-old deaf girl in the state's Obi Local Government Area. 

DSP Command spokesman Ramhan Nansel, who revealed in a statement Friday, March 10, said the suspects, Aminu Hashimu, Lukman Dogara, 24 and 18, lured the victim to come over. their apartment and raped her.

 According to PPRO, the suspects were tracked down and arrested at Obi and Lafia LGAs, respectively, where they were hiding.
“At approximately 6:30 p.m. on February 3, 2023, a complaint was filed with the Obi Chamber that 24-year-old Aminu Hashimu and 18-year-old Lukman Dogara, both males from Owolosho Street, LGA The state of Obi of Nasarawa, conspired to commit a crime and rape a 15-year-old girl," the statement read. 
“After receiving the report, an investigation and manhunt was conducted by police officers from the Obi Division to track down the suspects. Therefore, on March 3, 2023, the aforementioned suspects were arrested at different locations in the towns of Obi and Lafia, respectively. 
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects lured the deaf victim to their residence in Okpe Street, Obi and had an illegal sexual relationship with her. The suspects have confessed to the offence. 
"The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination and Police Commissioner, CP Maiyaki Baba has ordered a thorough investigation of the incident, eventually, the suspects will be brought to court for prosecution."
