Following a distress call that informed the Ewekoro divisional headquarters that a four-man robbery gang had invaded the Apomu Community in the Ewekoro local government area of the state and taken members of the community's belongings, the suspects, who were identified as Ahmed Isiaha, Sunday Ajibola, and Jimoh Wahab, were taken into custody.
CSP Jacob Olayemi, the DPO of the Ewekoro division, received the distress call and quickly mobilized his patrol team and arrived at the scene. The criminals fled when they saw the police, but they were relentlessly pursued, and three of them were apprehended with the help of community members.
One locally manufactured double barrel pistol, five live cartridges, one expented cartridge, a Bajaj motorcycle with the registration number TTN 975 VU, a TVS motorcycle with the registration number JBD 353 W, and some criminal charms were among the items that were recovered from them.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the arrest by stating that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has ordered the suspects to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation.
