Today (Thursday), eLearning Africa published a copy of a letter that President Sall wrote to Ms. Rebecca Stromeyer, the event's creator and director. The President stated in it:

"President Sall and the Senegalese government are aware of the significance of digitally assisted education and training for economic development. They have observed how technology has contributed to the spread of education's advantages throughout Africa. Under the leadership of the President, Senegal's infrastructure has recently undergone significant upgrades, and the nation is growing economically.
"I am thrilled that eLearning Africa is going back to Senegal for what looks to be our biggest and most exciting event ever. The fact that President Sall and his government are supporting eLearning Africa with such fervor demonstrates the importance they place on both the event itself and the growth of the digital economy as well as the EdTech industry.
Senegal is leading the way towards a new era of opportunity as ideas for a single market and a single digital market in Africa take shape. And there are a ton of opportunities. President Sall's vision of Senegal as a regional economic powerhouse places a high priority on education and training. He introduced the "Emerging Senegal Plan" in 2018, which consists of initiatives to boost educational infrastructure, content development, research, and innovation. Therefore, eLearning Africa, which hosts a ministerial roundtable at the conference every year, will offer a platform for discussion with one of Africa's most ardent supporters of edTech-based prosperity.

It has also been established that the conference will take place with the assistance of the ministries of Basic Education, Higher Education, Further Education and Training, and Digital Economy. This confirms the emphasis that Senegal's highest levels currently place on digitally enabled learning. Additionally, Dr. Isaac Sissokho, the department's secretary general, has been given instructions by Moussa Bocar Thiam, minister of communication, telecommunication, and the digital economy, to help with conference planning.
The 16th edition of eLearning Africa will be held at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre - CICAD in Dakar from May 24 through May 26. "New Model Learning: Innovating to Become Sustainable, Self-Reliant, Equitable and Resilient" will be the conference's overarching subject.
