not less than three persons including a woman were killed by suspected Fulani herders at Tse Ikyem in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Locals said that the herders invaded the community around 4 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2022, killing the three and injuring several others.
A community leader, Joseph Anawah, who confirmed the attack, gave the names of the departed as Mr Solomon Ukoom, Mrs Eunice Torkwase Joe Kpei and Mr Mfeseer Iorbume.
"On 29th October 2022 at around 4:00 pm armed herdersmen went after and killed Mr Solomon Ukoom, Mrs Eunice Torkwase Joe Kpei and Mr Mfeseer Iorbume," he said.
"Many were wounded.The casualties are from Ukemberagya Gaambetiev Logo LGA Benue state. The assault was done at Tse Ikyem around Anawah settlement, similar place where two individuals were killed on Sunday 23rd October, 2022."
Representative of the State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
"Incident confirmed please." she said in a terse SMS sent to the Nigerian Tribune.
