Representative of the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who revealed this in an explanation on Monday, October 10, 2022 said one privately made slice to-measure twofold barrel weapon(gun) and short firearm were recuperated(recovered) from the suspect.
"On 9/10/2022, Agents of the Command Eagle-Net Special Squad while on Aberdeen watch in Warri, located a male traveler conveying a small scale sack who on locating the Police, landed from a little transport and escaped with the pack(bag)," the statement read.
"His activity was dubious subsequently the agents pursued him. The suspect on seeing that the Police officers were closing up on him, deserted the said pack and got away into a close by waterway. After looking through the pack, one privately made slice to-measure twofold barrel weapon and one privately made short firearm were recuperated. Endeavors are on to capture the escaping suspect,"
The PPRO likewise noticed that another suspect, Popular Olotu, was captured with a one privately made slice to-measure firearm stacked with one live cartridge.
"In another development, on 5/10/2022, Police operatives attached to Oghara Police station led by the Divisional crime officer (DCO) while on stop and search duty along Ibori Road, Oghara in Ethiope East LGA, intercepted one Famous Olotu ‘m’ age 35yrs and subjected the suspect to a search during which, one privately made slice to-estimate firearm stacked with one live cartridge was recuperated from him. Suspect was promptly arrested and the examination is continuous." he added.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, assured members of the public that the Command will leave no stone unturned in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
To this end, the CP mandated all DPOS, and Tactical Commanders to ensure sustenance of raids of criminal hideouts/black spots in their area of responsibilities.
